The SAA Museum
If you’re looking for an outing for adults and kids alike, the SAA Museum is the perfect venue to visit!
The SAA Museum holds various aircraft in their fleet that you can view and enjoy up close and personal. The museum also allows entry into selected aircraft for an in-depth tour.
One of the most iconic aircraft that is in the museum is the Lebombo, Boeing 747 which flew over Ellis Park Stadium before the final of the Rugby World Cup in 1995. Another aircraft that stands in the museum in all its glory is the Maluti which is also a Boeing 747.
The SAA Museum does an amazing job in maintaining its aircraft as well as an indoor museum that showcases many aviation artefacts including parts of the Helderberg, an SAA aircraft that experienced an in-flight fire in 1987 and crashed killing everybody on-board.
